Crow Shields Bailey Merger Featured in ASCPA Magazine

ASCPA May coverCrow Shields Bailey (CSB) managing partner Kenny Crow, CPA, authored an article about our recent merger experience with McKean and Associates for the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants (ASCPA) magazine. As the number of CPA firm combinations continues to increase, our team wanted to offer advice to other firms on how to make similar partnerships successful.

Crow described five merger steps using the analogy of uniting in a marriage of ideals, including leadership buy in, timing, the onboarding process, transition challenges and the long-term benefits of merging.

“I feel it is imperative for our firm to continue growing. Growth, resulting from healthy mergers, enables us to recruit new talent, retain key team members and provide quality client service” said Crow. Read the full article in ASCPA’s May/June issue.

During the two-day conference, students had the opportunity to meet the CSB team and learn about key elements of leadership: values, vision and voice in launching their professional careers.

Accounting students from across the area attended the workshops and were inspired by our four outstanding guest speakers:

  • Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson
  • Grant Zarzour, orthopedic surgery resident at USA Medical Center
  • Pete Peters, chartered financial consultant at Financial Strategies
  • Taylor Norton, president at South Shore Insurance Agency

We are already excited to start planning our 2017 Imagine Leadership Conference to mentor the next generation of rising stars in the accounting industry.

To Our Valued Clients and Friends:

Crow Shields Bailey PC is proud to announce that we have joined McGladrey Alliance, a national premier affiliation of independent accounting and consulting firms, effective November 1, 2015.

Our leadership team accepted a McGladrey Alliance membership to better serve our clients by accessing financial resources, leadership training and professional development programs.

McGladrey Alliance’s national network of firms spans over 38 states, and allows members like us to leverage the infrastructure of the country’s fifth largest provider of audit, tax and consulting services, but maintain our local ownership, autonomy and maintenance of valued client relationships. This membership gives Crow Shields Bailey the shared resources of a national practice, while allowing us to remain your locally-owned accounting firm with offices in Mobile, Daphne and Gulf Shores.

Following the announcement earlier this year of our merger with McKean & Associates, P.A., Crow Shields Bailey is in an even greater position to enhance our client services and provide our team members with professional development opportunities through its McGladrey Alliance membership.

We will offer the same dependable services, but commit to better supporting your financial needs through an increased range of technical tools, expertise and practice management resources.

Should you have any questions concerning the affiliation, please do not hesitate to reach out to any member of our team to discuss. We appreciate your support and look forward to continuing to serve you.

Regards,

Kenny Crow, Jr.
